Proactiv 3 Step Solution is a highly advertised acne treatment system. It consists of multiple topical products for acne. The first step is a Cleanser with Benozyl Peroxide (BPO). BPO is an antibiotic which targets one of the causes of acne, the overgrowth of Cutibacterium (Propionibacterium) acnes bacteria. The second topical product is a toner featuring witch hazel, aloe, and other ingredients which help to cleanse skin. The third topical product is another product that contains BPO.
Proactiv’s 3 step system provides a regular routine for skin care which has its benefits. It helps you have cleaner skin and targets acne causing bacteria at the same time with BPO.
Acne is attributed to Propronibacterium acnes bacteria. The benzoyl peroxide in Proactiv 3 Step has an antibiotic that helps reduce the amount of P. acnes bacteria on the skin.
Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms that reside in the gut. They have numerous benefits including lowering systemic inflammation. Supplementation with Lactobacillus probiotics was found to make a clinical improvement in patients suffering from acne. Proactiv 3 Step does not have any probiotics.
