Acne.org 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide consists of a topical cream containing 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (BPO). BPO is an antibiotic which targets one of the causes of acne, the overgrowth of Cutibacterium (Propionibacterium) acnes bacteria. While most other BPO creams contain 10% BPO, studies have shown that 2.5% is better because it is just as effective as 5% or 10% creams while being less irritating.
