What is DrFormulas Dermatrope?

DrFormulas Dematrope is a dietary supplement featuring turmeric, DIM, fish oil, and probiotics.  It is an interesting approach to acne as it contains ingredients that may address the underlying cause of acne.

Turmeric is a powerful antioxidant that reduces inflammation

Fish oil is high in fats called essential fatty acids and particularly, omega-3 fats. Omega-3 fats lower inflammation by inhibiting pro-inflammatory enzymes.

DIM is short for Diindolylmethane which is extracted from cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower. While it has so anticancer properties what is of interest is how it interacts with the endocrine system. It may help acne through its antiandrogen characteristics. Androgens tend to cause excess sebum production in acne.

Probiotics are a relatively new supplement to take for acne. It is thought that inflammation inside the gut manifests on the skin via pro-inflammatory cellular signaling molecules. Probiotics can help lower inflammation inside the gut which may help with inflammation on the skin.
